SESSION

To the elders among you, I appeal as a fellow elder and a witness of Christ's sufferings who also will share in the glory to be revealed:  Be shepherds of God's flock that is under your care, watching over them--not because you must, but because you are willing, as God wants you to be; not pursuing dishonest gain, but eager to serve; not lording it over those entrusted to you but being examples to the flock.  1Peter 5:1-3

The session leads in the rejoicing, renewal, and reaching out of the congregation by committing to the joys of worship, prayer, study, fellowship, and service.  We seek to embody and communicate the good news of Jesus Christ through story-sharing, testimonies, and relationship-building.  And we strive to model such life in Christ to the congregation.

The session is made up of 12 active elders who begin each meeting with 45 minutes of prayer and Bible study. Elders then discern God's will for the corporate life of the congregation through prayerfully considering and discussing motions. They are also responsible for care over all the members of the congregation (in coordination with the deacons) and the care of the property and grounds (in coordination with the trustees.)  Rev. David Jahnke moderates the session.
