DEACONS

I commend to you our sister Phoebe, a deacon of the church in Cenchreae. Greet Priscilla and Aquila, my co-workers in Christ Jesus. They risked their lives for me. Not only I but all the churches of the Gentiles are grateful to them.  Acts 16:1, 3-4

The Deacons are given the honor and charged with the responsibility of caring for the Fanwood Presbyterian Church's membership. Following the example of Jesus Christ, we minister to those who are in need, to the sick, to the grieving, to the lonely and to those home-bound or in nursing homes.

Each Sunday following worship, the Deacons visit those in need of care and share the weekly worship service with written and recorded message and the Sacrament of Communion.

We call on those who are hospitalized or in long term health facilities. As the need arise, we arrange for meals and transportation to worship, shopping and medical appointments. Support is provided to the grieving through the Steven Ministries and bereavement dinner program. We reach out to the community with blood drives.
