The Mission Committee creates and organizes diverse opportunities for FPC members to spread God's love through hard work and fellowship. Wherever possible, we seek hands-on activities that support local, national and international ministries. This past year our focus has been on hunger relief, but we also offer other opportunities for the congregation to contribute their time, talent and financial resources. We seek to further our collective journeys of faith by rejoicing in fellowship as we work together, renewing our commitment to Christ through dedicated service, and reaching out to those in need, all while Growing in God's Love.
The Mission Committee of Fanwood Presbyterian Church includes members from Session as well as members from the congregation-at-large. Its main focus is participatory charitable activities of the Church, including the Food Bank, Habitat for Humanity & The Thrift Shop.
The Mission Committee also oversees the donations from the Church budget to missions consisting mostly of local charities. The Committee is also responsible for special fundraisers for Mission activities within the Church, such as the Souper Bowl of Caring, turkeys and hams at holidays, Shrove Tuesday pancake supper for our Food Bank, Hurricane Sandy relief and more.
