Fanwood Presbyterian Youth Ministries
Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers
in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity. 1 Timothy 4:12
Our goal at FPC is to encourage and nurture the youth of our church to develop a strong Biblical foundation in order to deepen their faith in Jesus Christ. We do this through fostering genuine relationships, surrounding the youth with unconditional love, providing fellowship opportunities, Bible studies and mission work.
Wendesday Night Youth Group and Fellowship
“Be imitators of Christ, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.”
Ephesians 5:1-2 (NIV)
The above scripture sums up my goals for the youth during 2015-2016 year….. to be imitators of Christ. I pray that through this upcoming year the youth of FPC will continue to grow in their knowledge of God, which I pray will lead to a personal relationship with Jesus and a desire to be like him. In order to grow in their faith we will offer: Bible studies, prayer, fellowship, shared meals, fun and service projects.
Below is the schedule for Wednesday nights:
- Kingdom Kids (2nd-4th grade) 4:15-5:15, in the gym
- Middle School youth group (5th-8th grade) 5:30-6:30, in the gym
- Middle School/High School dinner 6:30-7:00, in the dining room
- High School Youth group (9th-12th grade), 7:00-8:00, in the Colville room
At FPC we believe that in order for a persons relationship in Jesus to grow, they must put their faith into action. We offer a variety of mission opportunities throughout the year so that our youth can put their faith into action. These events may include trips to Agape soup kitchen, collection for food pantries, help at recycling center, help with community clean up days, Crop Walks, Souperbowl of Caring, service to Interfaith council for the Homeless, baking and letter writing to shut-ins, college students, and military personnel.
Retreats are a wonderful way for leaders and youth alike to become closer to each other and to God. Retreats are age appropriate events, which take place in the fall and spring. Retreats will be publicized in the church bulletin, on the church website, in the Fanfare, by email, on through handout. Youth and parents receive appropriate information prior to retreats. Scholarships available.
