Start children off on the way they should go,

and even when they are old they will not turn from it.  Proverbs 22:6

Sunday School Curriculum

FPC uses David C. Cook, Bible-in-Life Sunday school curriculum.  Here is information about the curriculum from the Davd C Cook website:

When the Bible is in your life, God's Word transforms your heart and mind.

David C Cook's most widely used curriculum, Bible- in-Life, focuses on four basic goals: connect, teach, apply, motivate. No matter where students are in their walk with Jesus, Bible-in-Life communicates the gospel with life-changing clarity and motivates them toward life application.

Bible-in-Life follows Christ's model for making disciples. Weekly lessons guide Sunday school participants of all ages on a spiritual formation path the way Jesus led His students.

Sunday School during the Traditional Worship service (9:30-10:30am)

Care for infants and toddlers is provided in our Nursery in the Education Building. Please feel free to leave your children in our care beginning at 9:15 am.  Each Sunday the ministry of caring for your child may include playing with the children, reading stories to toddlers, comforting a child or cradling one to sleep, giving bottles or changing diapers as needed.

Children (pre-kindergarten through 4th grade) attend worship with their parents in the sanctuary beginning at 9:30 am. After the Children's Message, they leave with their teachers for Sunday School.

Students are broken up into the following groups:

 Pre-Kindergarten through 1st grade

 2nd grade though 4th grade

Sunday School during the Contemporary Worship service (11:15-12:00 p.m.)

A single class for children ages 5 through 9 is offered after the Children's Message in worship.  Younger children can either come with parents to worship or go to the nursery and older youth stay in worship.

Confirmation

Every other year, 8th and 9th graders are invited to join the Confirmation Class.  The confirmands learn about God's story and what it means to claim that story as their own, both individually and as part of the church.  During this time, they attend classes, retreat, and a service project.  The next confirmaiton class will be offered during the 2016-2017 school year.
